2021 4-star receiver Dekel Crowdus has returned to Frederick Douglass.

This weekend at the KHSAA Gridiron Bowl a rumor was being spread that former Frederick Douglass WR Dekel Crowdus was in the building and telling people he was returning to the Broncos. I reached out to Crowdus for confirmation that he was returning to Douglass and he responded with an emphatic, "Yes sir, it's good to be home! I'm glad to be back home with my boys for my senior year and to work together to win a state championship." He also said he's already back in classes at Douglass.

The Rivals250 receiver transferred from Douglass to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida just days before the season kicked off. They say you can never come home but after a year removed from the Broncos and the Blue Grass State the Rivals250 4-star will be returning to play his senior season at Douglass. He cited coaching changes at IMG and missing his family and teammates as reasons for his return to Lexington.

Based upon the newly released 2021 Rivakls250 national rankings Crowdus will be rated as the second best prospect in Kentucky behind his teammate Jager Burton.

The return of Crowdus is a significant enough addition in and of itself but with 3-star RB Devin Neal heading to Cincinnati next year the offense needed someone to pick up the slack. Enter Crowdus who amassed 831 yards and 11 touchdowns on 37 catches in 2018 as a sophomore and add him with Devin's younger brother 2021 RB Darius Neal and 2022 WR Dane Key and the Broncos shouldn't miss a beat in 2020.

Frederick Douglas head coach Brian Landis has to be pleased that his offense will continue to put an explosive product on the field as they look to win their first state title in the program's brief three-year history after falling short of that goal by seven points this season.
