Ranking Update: Robinson rises, Dorsey debuts

In the latest 2016 Kentucky Preps Football Prospect Rankings, things have changed considerably.
The slate was essentially wiped clean and more than fifty juniors were evaluated in some way -- whether in person or via film. Superb camp performances were taken into account as well.

One thing that did not change, is the No. 1 spot. Versailles (Ky.) Woodford Co. center Drake Jackson remains this spectacular class' top ranked prospect.
It's unlikely he'll slip from this spot, but perhaps the new No. 2, who may camp with some of college football's powerhouses this summer, can make a push at it.

Robinson Rises
Lexington (Ky.) Henry Clay defensive back Davonte Robinson made the jump from No. 6 to No. 2 in the latest update.
The speedy prospect's junior tape was down right impressive. His breaks on the ball and break-away speed are at an elite level.
What also makes him an interesting prospect are his abilities on special teams. His speed presents a multitude of ways to use him. One way, of course, is in the return game. Also, in punting or field goal situations, going after blocks.
Robinson is currently committed to Kentucky, but may camp with Ohio State and a few others this summer. And it wouldn't be much of a surprise if his offer list grew over the months of June and July.

Dorsey Debuts
The newest Louisville commit, Louisville (Ky.) duPont Manual defensive end Derek Dorsey, makes his first appearance on the list, in this latest update.
Last month, he had a good showing at the Best of the Midwest Combine. And not long after, he had a scholarship offer from the Cardinals.
Dorsey played opposite of WKU-signee Ty'ron Horton on the Crimson defensive line as a junior. The two were one of the state's top duos coming from the edge, in 2014.

Burns Gets Boost
Louisville (Ky.) Trinity athlete Rodjay Burns jumped three spots -- from No. 8 to No. 5 in this update.
The prospect who is more known as a defensive back, keeps putting on muscle and this offseason is honing in on his cornerback skills. Although it's not certain that's where he'll play down the road.
As a junior, his school, again, had one of the toughest schedules in the country and many of those schools had superb receiving threats. However Burns, for the most part, was able to keep top targets in check.
The U of L-commit probably runs around a 4.5 forty -- a legit one -- which isn't blazing fast, but he's a more physical type of player. He's a hard hitter and flies to the ball whether it be on the ground or in the air.

On the fringe
The next time Kentucky Preps makes any changes to this ranking there will be an expansion. Sometime in the summer this list will likely grow to 15.
So a lot of the on the fringe guys will be in. Evaluations from spring practices to 7 v 7. will take place.
So guys that were on the fringe, will probably get in.
