Jackson Davis Picks Rice

2014 Lafayette Forward Jackson Davis ended his recruitment yesterday afternoon. He picked Rice over Columbia, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Princeton, Harvard and Pennsylvania.
Davis told me the visit to Rice is what really sealed things for him. "Everything just seemed to work out perfectly when I was up there." He also said that academics played a part in his decision, although it wasn't a deal breaker Rice met that criteria as well. "The campus was wonderful and it's a Grade A academic institution."
Davis averaged 20.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game last season for the Lafayette Generals. Now that he has his commitment out of the way he has one focus for his senior year. "State championship, that's the goal."
Lafayette will be one of the favorites in the 11th region this season, so that goal is very attainable. And if Davis puts up similar numbers this season while taking his team to Rupp Arena he'll be one of the favorites to win Mr. Basketball as well.
