Freshman Spotlight: Collin Miller

The 2017 class is shaping up to be extremely solid with a lot of talented freshman to be. Kentucky Preps will be taking a look at some of the best freshman to be in a series called Freshman Spotlight. We'll be asking each of the players 20 questions to get to know some of them as they start their high school career.
2017 Casey County Guard Collin Miller averaged 18.5 points, 6 assists and 4 steals per game last season for his middle school team. He also played freshman, junior varsity and a small amount of varsity for Casey County last season. He played with M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs this past Summer.

Q. (Donald Yaste): What Highschool will you be attending?
A. (Collin Miller): Casey County High School.
Q. (DY): How has this Summer prepared you for this coming high school season?
A. (CM): The first half of the summer I played with MATTS Mustangs against the best in the country my age. The second half I got the opportunity to play up with Team Manimal against high school teams and that helped me so much in seeing the huge transition from middle school to high school that I am facing.
Q. (DY): What expectations do you have for yourself going into this high school season?
A. (CM): Just to adapt to that transition from middle to high school to learn that the things I could do in middle school will need to be scaled back. The players are so much stronger and faster. I just want to be a solid point guard for our team.
Q. (DY): What are your expectations for your team?
A. (CM): We have a great new coach in Coach Maze Stallworth the guys really believe in him and knowing how hard we work in the gym we will surprise the 12th region this year.
Q. (DY): What is your current height and weight?
A. (CM): I'm 5'9 145 pounds.
Q. (DY): Describe your style of play?
A. (CM): I like to push the ball up the floor and attack create for my teammates.
Q. (DY): What are you strengths?
A. (CM): My passing! And creating and getting shots for my teammates, also dribbling.
Q. (DY): What are your weaknesses?
A. (CM): Shooting and playing without the ball.
Q. (DY): What do you hope to accomplish through playing basketball?
A. (CM): Make friendships and if it's Gods will, play college basketball.
Q. (DY): Have any colleges reached out to you at this point? If so who?
A. (CM): I've had a couple tell me they liked my game, but nothing serious. I'm hoping to get to play in front of some colleges next spring and summer.
Q. (DY): What is your greatest fear?
A. (CM): Not being successful and fulfilling my dream to play college basketball and wasting the talent God blessed me with. And Elevators!
Q. (DY): What is your best characteristic?
A. (CM): Competiveness and determination.
Q. (DY): What is your nickname and how did you get it?
A. (CM): I've had a couple but none have stuck.
Q. (DY): What is one hidden talent you possess?
A. (CM): Scoring touchdowns and pole vaulting.
Q. (DY): What is your favorite quote?
A. (CM): "One man can be a crucial ingredient on a team, but one man cannot make a team."
Q. (DY): What is your favorite food?
A. (CM): Pizza.
Q. (DY): Who is your biggest role model?
A. (CM): My father, without him I wouldn't be where I am today.

A. (CM): Duke>
