Our under the radar spotlight continues as we highlight Cole Woodward a 6-foot-1 210-pound linebacker in the 2021 class. Originally Woodward started his highschool career playing at Silver Creek Highschool in Sellersburg, Indiana before transferring across the bridge to Kentucky powerhouse Saint Xavier to player under head coach Kevin Wallace, one of the premier coaches in Kentucky history.

Woodward has played a variety of positions throughout his career including running back which served him well for being able to locate the football and find running lanes as a linebacker. Coming in and learning the system as a junior, Woodward contributed mainly on special teams and in a reserve role at linebacker.

Woodward made an impact against the eventual state champion Trinity Shamrocks team as he recovered a fumble in the rivalry game played at Cardinal Stadium. On film Woodward flys around to the ball and plays with a high motor. He does good job playing in space as well as being a force defender in Saint Xaviers 3-4 defensive scheme. On special teams Woodward is very disruptive and earned praise from the coaching staff for his playmaking ability.

With verified 4.8 speed at the Best of the Midwest combine, Woodward is a prospect that we would label on the cusp. He is currently receiving interest from the NAIA level but with a solid offseason of physical development and an increased role at Saint Xavier following the departure of some senior linebackers Woodward is a guy to keep an eye on.
