Lexington Christian Academy's tempo out paces Waggener 40-14

Lexington Christian stormed out of the gates Saturday evening, going 8 plays in two minutes capping the drive with a 3-yard Wade Drake touchdown. The extra point made the score 7-0, establishing a lead the Eagles would never relinquish.

Waggener would strike back on the the strength of a 72-yard touchdown from 4-star Jairus Brents to Marlon Kimble, but missed the conversion making the score 7-6.

LCA wasted no time responding, capping off a 38 second drive with a 9 yard score by Dillon Wheatley. Then on Waggener's next drive, Blaine Hardin forced a fumble from Keontrey Chappell which speedy Drayden Burton scooped up and raced 42 yards into the end zone making the score 21-6.

Waggener hung tough in the first half, and added another score on a 5-yard Brents' touchdown run set up by his own explosive 38 yard scramble the play before. The Wildcats heading into the locker room trailing the Eagles 21-14, but their scoring for the night would end there.

In the second half Lexington Christian's tempo took the air out of the Waggener sails and the offense chugged along behind quarter back Logan Neives who threw a 25 yard touchdown to Drayden Burton and called his own number on an 11 yard touchdown jaunt which made the score 34-14. Dillon Wheatley concluded the scoring with a touchdown plunge from the one.

After the game, offensive line coach David Parks gave his analysis of what he saw from the coordinators' booth.
