Bowling Green area producing top prospects

As the season reaches the halfway point, top players in Warren County have proven that they are worthy of playing Division I football. The Bowling Green area has six of the state's top players, including a Mr. Kentucky Football candidate.
That candidate for Mr. Football is Nacarius Fant. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Bowling Green High School receiver leads the state in receiving yards and receiving TDs with 30 receptions for 628 yards and 9 TDs. Fant has committed to play football for Western Kentucky University.

Fant's cross-town rival Warren Central is home to another top player in the area. Chris Porter-Bunton is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver. Although Porter-Bunton is being recruited at the wide receiver position, this season he has been playing quarterback for the Dragons. Porter-Bunton has received interest from Kentucky, Louisville, and Purdue amongst others.
The Dragons also have a top player in the class of 2015, Emmitt Smith. Smith is a 6-foot-1, 230 pound inside linebacker. Smith has gained interest from Kentucky, Western Kentucky University, Indiana, and Vanderbilt.
Another junior making a lot of noise is Vanderbilt commit Eli Brown. Eli Brown of Warren East plays offense and defense at the running back and linebacker positions. Brown is 6 feet 2, 192 pounds. As a sophomore, Brown received all-state honorable mention honors.
Lastly, South Warren's defense has only allowed three points. A big part of that are the two top players featured on South Warren's defense. Defensive tackle Adrian Middleton and outside linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe have led the Spartans to a 5-0 record this season. Middleton is 6 feet 4, 275 and has committed to play for Mark Stoops and the Wildcats next season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Iyiebuniwe has offers from Indiana St. and Western Kentucky University.
As for any of these teams playing each other, South Warren shutout Warren East 35-0 the first game of the season. The Purples of Bowling Green and Warren Central meet October 18th at Bowling Green High School.
