2017 KY ATH turning heads

It's never too early to begin the process of recruitment. 2017 Louisville (Ky.) Butler athlete Greg Bethel is doing just that.
After his freshman year -- where he played a vital role on a team that finished their season in the semi-finals of the state championship -- Bethel is attracting attention from Division I schools.
Most recently, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect visited Kentucky and took in one of their spring practices. He came away impressed from the outing and believes he and the Wildcats' offensive coordinator -- Neal Brown -- will keep in contact.
WKU is another school that has caught wind of the stellar freshman. He's been to Bowling Green once already for an unofficial visit with the Hilltoppers. There's a connection between the two that may go a long way in landing Bethel, should the 'Tops offer.
Last year the star of Bears' football team was senior Joe Brown. Brown and Bethel are near carbon copies of each other. Both athletes by classification, play running back but are better suited in the defensive backfield and are around the same size.
Brown ended up signing with WKU to continue his playing career. And by all accounts Brown and Bethel are pretty 'tight'. So with that said, if WKU is vying for Bethel when that time comes around his ties with Brown may become a major factor.
Bethel is a shoe in to replace Brown at the running back position this fall, says Butler Head Coach Gary Wheeler.
