The 2017 class is shaping up to be extremely solid with a lot of talented freshman to be. Kentucky Preps will be taking a look at some of the best freshman to be in a series called Freshman Spotlight. We'll be asking each of the players 20 questions to get to know some of them as they start their high school career.
2017 Marion County Guard Isaac Lanham averaged 6 points and 12 rebounds per game with Hoop Dreams this past Summer. Lanham played all five positions at ST. Augustine Middle School last year and averaged 23 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks per game.
Q. (Donald Yaste): What Highschool will you be attending?
A. (Isaac Lanham): I will be attending Marion County High School.
Q. (DY): How has this Summer prepared you for this coming high school season?
A. (IL): This summer has prepared me for this coming high school season by making me physically and mentally stronger.
Q. (DY): What expectations do you have for yourself going into this high school season?
A. (IL): My expectations for myself this upcoming season are to put in the work to better myself to be able to play for the varsity team.
Q. (DY): What are your expectations for your team?
A. (IL): My expectations for this year's team are to win our district tournament, win the 5th region tournament and move on to the State tournament.
Q. (DY): What is your current height and weight?
A. (IL): My current height is 6'3" and my weight is 159 pounds.
Q. (DY): Describe your style of play?
A. (IL): My style of play is a fast paced game where I can attack the goal and hit some outside shots.
Q. (DY): What are you strengths?
A. (IL): My strengths are driving the ball to the goal, my handle, passing and finishing around the basket.
Q. (DY): What are your weaknesses?
A. (IL): My weaknesses are my mid-range and 3 point shooting.
Q. (DY): What do you hope to accomplish through playing basketball?
A. (IL): By playing basketball I hope to be the best player I can be and earn a college scholarship.
Q. (DY): Have any colleges reached out to you at this point? If so who?
A. (IL): No colleges have reached out to me.
Q. (DY): What is your greatest fear?
A. (IL): My greatest fear is not being able to play basketball.
Q. (DY): What is your best characteristic?
A. (IL): My best characteristic is the determination to make myself better.
Q. (DY): What is your nickname and how did you get it?
A. (IL): I really don't have a nickname, but have been known to answer to I-Dog!
Q. (DY): What is one hidden talent you possess?
A. (IL): One hidden talent I possess is the ability to dribble the ball.

A. (IL): My favorite food is lima beans and rice.

A. (IL): My biggest role model is my Uncle Justin.
