The 2017 class is shaping up to be extremely solid with a lot of talented freshman to be. Kentucky Preps will be taking a look at some of the best freshman girls to be in a series called Freshman Spotlight. We'll be asking each of the players 20 questions to get to know some of them as they start their high school career.
2017 Butler Guard Terri Goodlett averaged 13.5 points, 4 assists and 2 steals per game for Team Shively this Summer. She averaged 9 points per game for Butler's junior varsity game last season and 17 points per game for Johnson Middle School.
Q. (Donald Yaste): What High School will you be attending?
A. (Terri Goodlett): Butler High School.
Q. (DY): How has this Summer prepared you for this coming high school season?
A. (TG): It's helped a lot. Playing with older girls helped my strength and game speed.
Q. (DY): What expectations do you have for yourself going into this high school season?
A. (TG): Help my teammates the best I can and go to state.
Q. (DY): What are your expectations for your team?
A. (TG): To be the best teammate I can be and win a couple of state titles.
Q. (DY): What is your current height and weight?
A. (TG): I'm 5'7" 145 pounds.
Q. (DY): Describe your style of play?
A. (TG): Dribble driver. I like going to the hoop, but by setting them up with my jump-shot.
Q. (DY): What are you strengths?
A. (TG): Shooting, driving and passing.
Q. (DY): What are your weaknesses?
A. (TG): Foot-speed and defense, but I'm working hard everyday to help that.
Q. (DY): What do you hope to accomplish through playing basketball?
A. (TG): A free education, to travel the world and maybe play some in the WNBA.
Q. (DY): Have any colleges reached out to you at this point? If so who?
A. (TG): Not yet.
Q. (DY): What is your greatest fear?
A. (TG): Letting my team down by not giving 110%.
Q. (DY): What is your best characteristic?
A. (TG): I'm a caring person and great to be around, but ready for business on the court.
Q. (DY): What is your nickname and how did you get it?
A. (TG): Tee-Wee. I'm a big Pee-Wee adventure type of kid.
Q. (DY): What is one hidden talent you possess?
A. (TG): I play instruments in band.
Q. (DY): What is your favorite quote?
A. (TG): Do to others as you want them to do to you.
Q. (DY): What is your favorite food?
A. (TG): Pizza and chicken.
Q. (DY): Who is your biggest role model?
A. (TG): My parents.
Q. (DY): What's your dream school?
A. (TG): Tennessee, UCONN and Louisville.
Q. (DY): Who is your dream coach?
A. (TG): It changes every year! Right now Coach Walz.
Q. (DY): Whose game to you model yours after?
A. (TG): Maya Moore.
