The 2017 class is shaping up to be extremely solid with a lot of talented freshman to be. Kentucky Preps will be taking a look at some of the best freshman girls to be in a series called Freshman Spotlight. We'll be asking each of the players 20 questions to get to know some of them as they start their high school career.
2017 Bullitt East Guard Lindsey Duvall played both guard spots for Bullitt East last season and averaged 14.75 points per game. She continued that strong play this Summer with Kentucky Premier averaging 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block per game.
Q. (Donald Yaste): What Highschool will you be attending?
A. (Lindsey Duvall): Bullitt East.
Q. (DY): How has this Summer prepared you for this coming high school season?
A. (LD): I played against great competition on my AAU teams and that has prepared me the most for this upcoming high school season.
Q. (DY): What expectations do you have for yourself going into this high school season?
A. (LD): I have worked hard on improving my game and I hope through my hard work I can become a better defender and leader on my team.
Q. (DY): What are your expectations for your team?
A. (LD): I want to help lead my team to the state tournament.
Q. (DY): What is your current height and weight?
A. (LD): I'm 5'-9 1/2" and 134 pounds.
Q. (DY): Describe your style of play?
A. (LD): I like to get out in the open court and drive to the basket.
Q. (DY): What are you strengths?
A. (LD): I have multiple ways to score. I can drive to the basket, pull up for the mid range jumper or shoot a three point shot.
Q. (DY): What are your weaknesses?
A. (LD): I need to continue to work on my defense.
Q. (DY): What do you hope to accomplish through playing basketball?
A. (LD): I enjoy the competition and hope to play at a higher level some day.
Q. (DY): Have any colleges reached out to you at this point? If so who?
A. (LD): I have spoken to Dayton, Louisville, Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Stanford, Northern Kentucky, Princeton, Bellarmine, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Maryland and received letters from other schools.
Q. (DY): What is your greatest fear?
A. (LD): Getting hurt.
Q. (DY): What is your best characteristic?
A. (LD): I enjoy being around other people.
Q. (DY): What is your nickname and how did you get it?
A. (LD): Little Duve, my brother gave me that name.
Q. (DY): What is one hidden talent you possess?
A. (LD): I like to play football.
Q. (DY): What is your favorite quote?
A. (LD): "Dig in and get it done."
Q. (DY): What is your favorite food?
A. (LD): Chinese.
Q. (DY): Who is your biggest role model?
A. (LD): My Dad and my brother, who won state in the hurdles.
Q. (DY): What's your dream school?
A. (LD): I have always been a Louisville fan, but playing for any school would be an honor.
Q. (DY): Who is your dream coach?
A. (LD): Not sure. I have learned so much from so many coaches.
